Math Art

My high school pre-calculus class was given an assignment to trace over a cartoon character with equations in Desmos. I loved this project and have been continuing to trace different cartoon characters as a hobby ever since.

I start by deciding what basic shape I can make a section of the character then decide how to transform that shape to perfectly fit the line in the cartoon. I challenge myself to make the largest sections I can using only one equation. I have learned and memorized how to visualize many different equations for geometric shapes and functions.
